If yes, then read on as we are looking to recruit a Practice Manager (GP Practice) for the Kings Family Practice in Chatham, Kent.

DMC Healthcare has been a trusted provider of services to the NHS for over 50 years. As Practice Manager for DMC, you will provide leadership and management of the practice centre. The Practice Manager is responsible for ensuring that the practice meet all key national, local and contractual requirements (Public Health targets, Quality and Outcomes Framework, Key Performance Indicators).


The Practice Manager is responsible for coordinating, managing and developing all staff at the practice. In the role you will provide day to day management of Admin Leads, Administrators and Clinical staff. You will organise and attend meetings of the health centres/practice teams and specific skills-based teams. You will prepare agendas and distribute minutes/action points after these meetings. You will lead on appraisal and performance monitoring and liaise with the Nurse Leads. This is a very people focused role where you will communicate at all levels. Practice managers will work with a variety of staff who work from or are based within the practice. These staff will typically include GPs, nurses, medical secretariesreceptionistsdietitianspharmacists and others.

The role

  •       Working with Head of Primary Care on planning of development of the managed sites
  •       To adopt a strategic approach to the development and management of patient services within sites
  •       Set objectives for the health centre and practice teams
  •       Prepare and annually update the Practice Development Plans and oversee the implementation of the aims and objectives
  •       Foster an environment at the sites that supports staff development encourages ideas and takes account of staff opinions
  •       Develop and maintain effective communication both within the practice/centres and with relevant outside agencies
  •       Work closely with the Clinical Lead, Primary Care Operations Manager and the health care team to ensure that sites meet quality indicators and targets (including CQC requirements, the Quality and Outcomes Framework, key performance indicators and other quality monitoring measures)
  •       Promote leadership in the practice team and represent the team’s interests to the wider professional community as when necessary 
  •       Keep abreast of key targets within Medway CCG and NHS England strategies and ensure that the services respond to any changes or innovations as necessary
